Dr. Sylvia Kurz, MD, PhD is a neuro-oncologist at Yale Cancer Center providing care for patients with brain tumors as part of the Chênevert Family Brain Tumor Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Dr. Kurz has experience with a full spectrum of primary and secondary tumors affecting the central nervous system, and neurological complications of cancer and therapies. Dr. Kurz specializes in treatment of patients with glioblastoma, glioma, meningioma, primary CNS lymphoma, metastases to the brain and meninges. Dr. Kurz serves as an associate professor of neurology at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on developing new therapies and improving existing treatment paths for brain tumors.
Dr. Kurz received her medical and doctoral degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Germany. She completed a residency University Hospitals Case Medical Center, and a fellowship in neuro-oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
